The combined Counties’ eleven included nine Yorkshiremen, and it might more properly have been called Yorkshire, with Shrewsbury and Gunn. The match attracted large crowds on the first two days, and produced good some cricket. For the winners, Shrewsbury scored 28 and a brilliant 57 (not out), Ulyett a lucky 53 and 17, Grimsbaw 27 and 13 (not out), Peate 31, and Lockwood 22 and 19. For England, Mr. E. M. There was some exceedingly good batting on both sides.
