Kent 173 Kent won by 7 wickets. A well-contested game throughout. A t the end of the second day, Derbyshire had a decided advantage, Kent being left with 172 runs to get to win. On the last day, however, Lord Harris and Mr. R. S. Jones, by first class cricket, made 123 between them, and fairly won the match for Kent. Lord Harris scored 72 (not out), and Mr. Jones 51 (not out). There was also some admirable batting on the side of Derbyshire ; Foster made 61 and 30, Mr. R. P . Smith 15 and 64, and Mr. L. C.
