C lub ’ s Tent, Esplanade, Bombay, The season was memorable for the cricket tour to the Pun jab—a tour unpre­ cedented in the annals o f Ind ian c r ick e t—a p rov in ce near ly 2,000 miles distant from nmnbay. In the several m atches p layed during th is t r i p the Club encountered several well-known Eng lish cr icke ters—n o tab ly Mr. C. F. Tu fne ll, o f Kent coun ty fame-and gave a v e ry good a c cou n t o f themselves. I t is frequently asked, what has become of their proposed trip to Eng land ? We are informed that th ey have abandoned the idea, at P a s t fo r the present, and i f th ey leave Ind ia at ail, it w ill probably be, not for England , but for America , where they w ill find cricketers o f their own calibre. j . K apadia .— .A first-rate le ft-hand b a t ; a very destructive fast under-hand (right) bowler; fields well anywhere. B. B. B aiua . —A v e ry good steady bat, on whom the Parsee Club a lways relies for double figures. S. B ezonji .—The former Parsee champ ion , and still gives a good sample o f his old powers; is an enthusiastic cricketer. A. C . M ajor —A prom is ing youn g cr icketer , but too frequently pays more attention to the development o f a show y style than to systematic defence ; is a very sharp field, and returns the ba ll qu ick ly . B. B hikaji .— A v e ry free run -g e t t in g ba t ; a good fast under-hand bow ler , and fields well. B. B himjibiioy .— A good safe bat, an effective bow ler , and is sharp in the field. P. J. M aster . —Still maintains hi6 reputation for pun ish ing slow bow ling severely, but his once v e ry successfu l bow ling is now severe ly punished too ; fields very well. R.F. K artruck .— A very free bat w ith great h itting p ow e rs ; the fastest under ­ hand bowler o f the Parsees, and fields sa tisfactorily . J. M. P atell . —Did not p la y last year ow ing to i l ln e s s ; is a good steady bat, and a successful p u z z l in g round-arm bow ler , break ing both ways ; is energetic in the field. A. R. L xbuwalla . —Is a good prom ising bat, but pays very little attention to practice; is the best long-6top o f the Parsees, and can also field very well at any other place. B. H. R eporter .— A steady b a t ; a good change under-hand bow ler , but too short for a long field. D. J. T ata . —Did not p la y last y e a r ; is an enthusiastic and painstaking cricketer, and will offer a good a ccoun t o f h im se lf this season. M .F ramji .—The o n ly Parsee p ro fe ss ion a l ; is a v e ry good practice bow ler , and fields remarkably w e l l ; a great lover o f the game, though knows not a word o f English; is also the ground bow ler o f the Ca lcutta Cricket Club from November to March every year.
