Norton* (7.9), by far the ♦hat in the eleven, mado some excellent scoring this season, when his excellent since allowed him to remain at the wicket; a good field at point. W. S. Mayo (13.7), vftrv steady bat, with plenty of confidence and neat stylo, good hitting powors on f j \L side; has been very successful with tho ball, being a very steady medium-paco hlff'er- not active enough in the field. Rev. A. S. II. Wood (10), a free bat, with ptcellent defence, good to send in first; a most useful wicket-keeper ; safe field any. idiero: howls dangerous slows at times. II. W. Blandford (9.7), a most useful bat r,]ien runs are wanted; a fair bow ler; slow in the field. F. C. Compton (5) has improved in batting decidedly this season, occasionally making a fine cut, wants a little more confidence ; capital field, throws well, with quick return. W. H. Brooke, Esq. (4). only played latter part of the season ; a very steady bat, but too anxious; a Tery fine point. T. Vachell (1), his strength lies in forward play, drives Well to the off - a fair catch and active in the field; a useful change bowler. H. G. Parry (4) bowls very prettily and at times very wel l ; playR with a straight bat, but in rather s cramped style, hits hard for his size; sharp field and good catch. L. B. W. Nutting* (3), a cricketer of one season, has a style of batting with an occasional good legLit; should be more active in the field; can throw very well. E, D. Merteno (1) wants confidence to stand up to fast bowling, but has improved; a fair field. H. Lvon,* wonderful form for his size, but has not enough patience; very quick with tho gloves; a fair field; ought to make a very good cricketer. * Has left. KING WILLIAM’ S COLLEGE, CASTLETOWN. Hughes-Games (batting aver., 9.9; bowling aver., 6.6), a steady bat and good all-round field, especially at point. L. A. Bellhouse (7.3, 7.8), if he could but learn patience and makemore a 6tudy of his bowling, would rank high among public school bowlers; a hard hitter, without much defence. W. H. Bragg (5, II), much improved and lias played some nice innings; fair change bowler. H. F. S. Adams (8.3,12.8) bats in almost perfect style, but is weak on the leg stump, is too anxious to make big hits; has bowled slows once or twice with good effect; a reliable field and safe catch. A. Davidson (4.4) occasionally hits bard, but has poor defence; a very fair field. S.G.Collier (5) has improved in batting; still has tho undeveloped making of a brilliant field, which he occasionally brings out. V. L. Pleiginer (6.3), a good field and fair bat, with a defence of his own more effectual than elegant. W. B. Tracy (11), avery pretty and unassuming bat, thoroughlv deserves tho average bat he has won ; fields in good style. H. L. Higgins (9.2) wonderfully improved in batting, with good cutting powers; a fair field, but indifferent bowler. J. O. Nash (2) ought to think aore of the ball and less of the correct fashion of hitting i t ; a g<-od field and has much developed. S.
