Distance from Epsom Downs Station three minutes, twenty minutes from the Town Station. Colours, reel, white, and blue. Matches 12—won 0, lost 6. W. C. Black (batting aver., 9.7; bowling aver., 10), very careful bat, should learn to play forward; sharp field in the slips; can bowl a little. II. Brenchley (8, 12.3), the long-step and a beauty; fair bat, plays forward well; good change bowler, fast round. A. E. Coates, Esq, (25.7, 11.9), still a tower of strength to us-we can say no more, for in the cricket field he leads us all round. J. A. Collins (3.5,11.4), stiff and very uncertain bat; bowled well at beginning of season, but fell off; wretched field. L. P. Gibson (5.3), uncertain bat, hits well to leg; will nevor play cricket until he practises steadily; indifferent field. J. W. Hudson (7 2,4.44), the best all-round man in the eleven; nervous till set, then drives and culs beautifully; still the bowler he was; has improved in fielding a great deal. W. Kemp (10.13),good bat, with fine driving powers, perhaps too fond of “ the draw;” kept wicket with some success; can also bowl. E. J. Moore (4.5) hardly met with the success in batting which his careful practice deserved; energetic field and captain. A.W. Pearse (12.9, 8.5), the surest bat in the team, makes runs when they are wanted ; hits freely and cuts well; bowls well at times, good length leg-broak; hard-working Hold, but rather slow. H. B. Townsend (2.5), rather yonng f or his colours ; slow in the field; safe bat when he can get his oye in ; must learn to bo more patient. A. K. Wynter (12.2), good bat, greatly improved, plays forwaid well; hard-working, but uncertain field. FOREST SCHOOL,WALTHAMSTOW.—-Pres, and Treas., Rev. F. B. Guy, D.D.; See., II. II. Johnson ; Capt., S. Gilbey, a good all-round man; has batted steadily and scored well throughout the season; very good field and a fair medium- paced bowler; average, 41.13; highest score, 71; bowling average, 11. H.H. Johnson, hard hitter, but does not study defence; a fast and effective bowler; average, 6" 5 highest score, 40; bowling average, 11. G. E. Webb has been of great service to the eleven in batting and a good field ; average, 12.3; highest score, 30. A. V. Treacher, the prettiest bat in the eleven, with good defence; an excellent long-stop generally a sure catch; average, 9.3 ; highest score, 29. C. Briggs, a hard hitter on the off side, weak on the leg side; a good wicket-keeper; average, 5.3; highest scoie, 24. G. H. Crawley, a steady bat, but has played some good innings towards the end
