Matches, 6—won 3, lost 1, drawn 2. The Harrow Wanderers started their fortnight' as in the two previous years, at Derby, on July 18th and 19th. Their opponents were weakened by thoabsoneeof Mycroft, owing to an accident, and theWanderers, goingu> first, ran up a total of 268* to which Mr. Wobbe made a magnificont contribution w I2S; Derbyshire got 116 and 278 for 7 wickets, their 2ndinnings being assisted by loose f fielding or. the part of the Wanderers and some friendly showers; Foster played agood innings of 108 not out, and tho match was drawn. Another draw was the result of the next match at Kirkstall, v. Leeds Clarence. The latter going in first made 246, E. !• Hirst contributing a hard hitting but fortunate innings of 115 ; the Wanderers got w (Webbe 44, Openshaw 45, Walker 46, Henery 36), and getting their opponents out n'r IGo (of which number Landon inuflo 80), had 1M to get to win, but time only permitted their making 60 for 4wickets. The fielding of the Wanderers was again at fault. Going on to Middlesborough, tho Wanderers scored their first victory, making 216 and 21 for no wicket against their opponents’ 166 and 71. For the Wanderers, Openshaw 52 and Henery 46 wero chief scorers; for Middlesborough, a young player, Wardill, showed promising form, but the majority of tho teamas usual werequite at sea with tho slow howling. At York, on July 25th and 2f>th, the Wanderers found opposed to them by far the strongest teamof Gentlemen they have yet encountered, and suffered their only defoat during the tour, by 6wickets.
