Andrews (3.3), an energetic but not generally a successful cricketer; vigilanti the field, but occasionally fails. 0. E. Brown (10.10) still retains his position as the best all-round cricketer in the County; good medium-paced bowler, and bowls withhiehead; free hard-hitting bat,but inclined 10 begin to hit too soon; an invaluable man in the shire! F. L. Evelyn (13.1), nervous at first, but an excellent bat when set, has played some good innings this season; an excellent field at long leg, and an onorgetic cricketer. 1. C. Evelyn (7.3) has been unable to play much this season; has an excellent defence, and is a brilliant field at cover point. W. Davies (14) has played some good innings this season; has a good defence, but should practise more; a good long-stop. A. E. Green.Price (25), areally good bat, with a fine defence, and can hit hard; a first, class field anywhere. A. Hatton (9.9) showed good, form at the beginning of the season, but fell off towards the end ; should get out of his cramped style of batting E. M. Headley (15 2), a free hard-hitting bat, especially to the off, moch improved in the field ; a fine thrower, and generally a safe catch. C. W. A. Key (23.1), a most useful man in any eleven, and has much improved as a bat; a good field and safe catch, w. Masefield (7.9), steady bat and useful change bowler; has not been so successful as usual with either bat or ball. W. D. Pulling (8.2), more useful this season to the club as a secretary than as a player; a good field, and occasionally makes runs; can take the wicket if required. W. T. Sale (1.3) has played but little this year; when set often makes runs ; an effective but rather showy field. E. F. S. Stanhope (23.3), a fine bat with good defence, making all the use of his height; a splendid field anywhere, and sometimes is brilliant behind the wickets. BOWLING AVERAGES. C. E. Brown . . . . Overs.
