Onthe second morning the three remaining wickets added 82, bringing the total to 546. Meanwhile heavy rain on the first night hadintervened , considerably affecting the wicket. Derbyshire , indeed, found it so difficult that by the end of the second day eight batsmen had been dismissed for 77. No play was possible on the third day, so that Derbyshire got well out ofit.
