(Wellington and Oxford).--A n elegant bat and a brilliant field. PATTERSON , W. H. (Harrow and Oxford ).-A safe and taking bat, with un- wearyingdefence ; also a fair change bowler and good field . RASHLEIGH, Rev. W. (Tonbridge and Oxford ).- Afine batsman, with a great variety of strokes , and scores very fast whenonce in. SHINE , E. B. (Cambridge ).- Afast bowler and a first -rate field . STEWART, H. C.-Plays in good style ; excellent field . TUFTON , HON. J. R.-Plays in good style , and is likely to prove of great assistance to the County. WEIGALL, G. J. V. (Wellington and Cambridge ).-Generally scores on a hard wicket ; has an elegant style , cutting being his strong point . BRADLEY, W. M.-A good fast bowler , but a poor bat . BANNON, B. D. (Tonbridge and Oxford ), and BURNUP, C. J. (Malvern and Cam- bridge), play for Kent. L A N C A S H I R E . BENTON, C. H. (Harrow).-Goodbatsman, with plenty of hit , and capital field . CROSFIELD, S. M .-Goodbat and field . HARTLEY, C. R. (Manchester ).-Agood bat ; played consistently well in first partof season. HORNBY, A. N. (Harrow).-Still a dangerous bat , hitting very freely ; as energetic as everin the field . HOULDSWORTH, W. H.-Hits very hard, and is useful in the out-field . HUBBACK, T. R.-Excellent reserve wicket -keeper ; very fair batsman. MACLAREN, A. C. (Harrow).-One of the very best amateur batsmen in England , having splendid defence , with plenty of punishing power. ROWLEY, E. (Clifton ).-A good bat and smart field ; ought to be of great useto the County. STODDART, W. B. ( Liverpool ).- Agood slow right -handbowler and useful bat. TINDALL , S.
