B. Westmacott (15.91 ), captain : Lost his bowling a good deal , but improved greatly with the bat. Hasan invaluable habit of rising to a crisis , and played several very plucky innings . A fine field and bowler . G. B. Campion (7) : Very disappointing until the last match, wheu he came out of his shell in excellent style . Badsight andbright sun have troubled him. Runs badly betweenwickets , but fielded splendidly at mid-off . E. Shears (13:43 ) : Avery useful bat, with plenty of reach and a good forward stroke . Still apt to lose his wicket with a rash hit . Mostplucky anduseful behind the sticks . H. E. S. Chapman (5-2 ) : A very useful bowler , with an awkward cut from the off , and ahighly deceptive dropping ball . Has done excellent service both on fast andslow wickets . Canhit hard whenhe gets the right ball . R. L. F. C. C. Carlton (9.53 ) : Very useful all round . Asplendid field and a very long thrower . Canhit very hard andhas a good eye, butis not always judicious , and steps in front too much. Loses runs by poking off the off-stump. Canbowl, butwas not as good as last season . H. Milestone (9-12) : Aleft -handedbat of considerable tameness Veryweak on his legs , but has the left hander's drive to cover. Fair field . D. N. Milestone (914) : Hardly fulfilled last year's promise , but occasionally batted very well. Good field at mid-on. J. G. Poole (9) : Can pull a long hopvery well , and plays nicely forward on a fast wicket , but lacks scoring power. Fair field . J. S. Harford (6.08 ) : Hitherto disappointing . H a sa good reach and hits hard, and is clearly destined to makem a n yruns. Useful bowler , going dangerously wide of the crease . Very slow in the field . F. S. Darkin (467) : Will develop . Bowlsa fair ball , but will never bat till he cankeephis right foot still , especially whenplaying off his leg stump. A. G. Gaydon: Is promising all round .
