Henderson (1896-7-8 ), captain 1898 : Dis- appointing with the bat, though his innings against Blair Lodge saved the match. Afine field , with capacious hands; andhis bowling has on occasions beenwonderfully good . H ehas managed his side well . C. W. Wordsworth (1896-7-8 ) : The most consistent scorer in the eleven , andthe steadiest bowler. Agood field and catch . Has done excellent service in all departments of the game, and some of his bowling performances have been exceptionally good . Captain for 1899. *J. Bruce Kerr (1896-7-8 ) : A good fast bowler , who has takenmorewickets than anyone else ; muchof the success is due to him. A fair bat, whoought to have mademore runs, and a safe field . *J. H. Gillespie (1896-7-8 ) : As a bat muchimproved. A fine field , with a splendid return . *D. G. Addison-Scott (1897-8 ) : Avastly improved field , but hasnot scored as well as was expected , though several of his innings were most useful . His slow bowling has at times been effective . E. F. Guthrie (1898 ) : Kept wicket well in the last few matches. Hasplayed some very useful innings , and has fine promise as a bat ; can hit the ball well . *J. R. C. Greenlees (1898 ) : A goodfield and safe catch , but his return is not very good. Has sometimes maderuns . H. A. Ross (1898) : A really good field . Sometimes hits the ball very hard indeed . G. L. Millar (1898 ) : Proved his use as a bat against Blair Lodge. Bowls at least one good ball in each innings , but has hardly been required . A passable field . N. M. Kerr (1898 ) : A promising bat, and can field . J. E. Ross (1898 ) : Agood field , but has not made manyruns .
