T. Turner (1896-7-8 ) : Areally good bat, with some good strokes behind the wickets , but is rather weak in front of the wicket . As a bowler has hardly fulfilled expectations . A good field . D. B. L .West (1897-98 ) : Notnearly so useful as last year. Ahard hitter whenset . Moderate change bowler. Slow, but safe in the field . G. Turnbull (1898 ) : A good bat on a fast wicket , with nice strokes onthe off ; weak, however, on the leg side . Smart and safe in the field . P. R. Burton (1898): A useful all-round m a n. Has played some good innings . A very steady bowler with an off -break. Brilliant field . R. H. Campbell (1898 ): Good at hits , but generally disappointing ; has done some goodperformances in school matches; cuts well . D. Burton (1898) : Useful as a bat. Asafe wicket- keeper, stopping on the leg side very well . W. E. G. Lawrie (1898 ) : Asteady bowler, with a little break from off. Safe and quick field . F. A.
