V. Harper (captain ) : As a batsman has shownhimself brilliant , but not very reliable ; yet he has certainly not had the best of luck. H e has conquered his flourish and developed his driving and cutting powers, but has rather a weakback stroke . Brilliant field at mid- off . L. H. Draper : A medium-paced bowler with an off-break. Has done excellent work throughout the season . Is uncertain as a bat, but has played some useful innings , generally scoring fast . A good field anywhere. H. W. Carrington : Has proved a very safe , consistent bat, though at times scoring very slowly . A very useful change bowler , especially on fast wickets , and fields well at slip . R. D. Beadle : Asplendid wicket -keeper, taking the ball very neatly . Hasbeen a disappointing bat , showing no improvement on last year's form. D. J. C. Glass : Bats in nice style , with a good forward stroke . Is a fair field , and has bowled well at times . Unfortunately ill for the latter part of the term. *S. Fletcher : A very good bat at nets , but does not always come off in matches. Covers a lot of ground in the long field , andbowls fast under- hand with some success . *W. K. Armitstead : Bowled well at first , but has fallen off latterly . Improvedbat, scoring fast , mostly on leg side . Safe ground field , but poor catch . F. B. Roberts : Avery promising bat and bowler, but has hadbadluck . A safe , if slow, field . J. S. Addison : Hasbatted well at times , but wants more confidence and should open his shoulders more. Workshard in the field . A. I. Draper : Slow right -handbowler. Bowls well on sticky wickets , but is inclined to pitch his balls short . Nota very successful bat. N. Kendal : Fair bat, but too fast -footed , and should reach out morewhenplay . ing forward . Should try to improve his fielding .
