T. White : Hasrecovered his batting latterly , but his run-getting has not been proportionate to his powers. Ause- ful bowler . Agood field anywhere . Thorough cricketer . A. H. Spooner : A thoroughly sound and effective batsman, with strong defence and cut. Good field . Rarely, if ever , bowls . *C. B. Smith : Hasplayed somecapital innings in a strong but slightly stiff style . Excellent point . Bowls only whenthings look very black. *A. H. C. Fargus : A good hammer-and-tongs bowler, dangerous to the tail of a team. A stout hitter . Lacks suppleness at cover- point . C. W. Allen : Most disappointing as a run-getter , as his style at the nets is first -rate . Painstaking field . *F. C. Swaine : Often bowls a good ball (left -handfast ), but always interlarded with some bad ones , especially with the fatal long-hopto leg , Fair bat. *F. S. Hewett : Avery fair batsman, rather uncertain in defence . Fair field . A useful change slow bowler. *R. H. Fox: Verymuchimproved as a bat, and has doneyeomanservice to the side . Has somepowerful off-stokes . Goodand improving wicket -keeper . O. L. Ruck: Agood bowler with plenty of spin . A nincorrect but dangerous batsman, with good capacities . Fair field . *L. C. Hodges : A useful but laborious bowler , with anaction of his own. Improving with the bat. *J. F. Graham: A hard hitter , stiff in the wrists . Painstaking field . E. C.
