Avery useful bowler , keeping an excellent length , and agood slip . J. F. H. Wilgress : Appears to have lost the whole knack of makingruns, but has considerable capacity for defending his wickets . Wright : A first -class bowler and a punishing bat . Has been the mainstayofthe teamthroughout the season . H. F. Severn : Hasimproved greatly behind the sticks , and has has also been useful in obtaining runs when necessary . W. J. Stuttaford : Hasbowled with somesuccess , but is very short anderratic at times . Hasbeen disappointing as a batsman. R. A. W. Archer : Is a stylish bat with several free strokes . Ought to be of great service next year. A nexcellent field at cover -point . F. B. Lanyon : Adifficult manto get out, but has not yet developed any really good stroke . A very keenbut uncertain field . W. T. Briscoe : Is a really goodbat andsafe field ; will no doubt makea goodmanyruns next season . F. H. B. Dealtry : Hasbatted well occasionally , butdoes not play a hard enough game, allowing the ball to hit his bat rather than playing it . Aperfectly safe field . R. S. Breton : Bowls agoodball,but is weak in fielding and batting . Ought to do muchbetter next yearwith practice . Is very poor in defending his wickets .
