Burnup (Malvern andClare) : The only sound first -class bat in the team; has some beautiful strokes all round the wicket . Excellent fielder and fair change bowler. A. T. Coode (Fauconberg and Jesus) : A nattractive stylish batsman; wants time, and likely to develop into a first -class bat . H. W. de Zoete (Eton and Trinity ) : Very useful all- round cricketer . Thesteadiest bowler on the side . Goodbat at apinch . A. E. Hind (Uppingham and Trinity ) : Second -class bowler ; liable to get a wicket whenthe groundhelps him. N o batsman. H. H. B. Hawkins (Whitgift and Trinity) : Hasdone some excellent performances ,but is rather plain on a good wicket . Has a good slow ball . G. L. Jessop (Private and Christ's ) : Quite a phenomenon; most brilliant hitter . Goodfast bowler . Can field anywhere . Might win any match by himself . H. H. Marriott (Malvern and Clare ) : Fairly sound stylish batsman , but seldom comes off when wanted . Good short slip . J. H. Stogdon (Harrowand Trinity ) : Notnearly up to the standard of a good 'Varsity XI. Can only bat on a good wicket . Moderate field . T. L. Taylor (Uppingham and Trinity ) : A good hard painstaking wicket -keeper ; very plucky andnever tires . Is quite a good bat , and has been of the greatest service to the XI. C. E. M. Wilson (Uppingham and Trinity ) : Very useful all- round cricketer . Has been a good captain . G. E.
