H. E. Cunliffe , who played really good cricket for his 70 and F. W. Stocks , whohit freely for 33. Thefollow -on produced a m u c h better display . R. E. Foster (65) , G. Bromley-Martin (45), and B. D. Bannon (45) played well , and four others got double figures . The last four batsmen, however, collapsed , so that Surrey after all had not to go in again .
