July 5, 6 and7. Cambridgeon paper were the better team, and in the end won easily . Theystarted none too well , and lost all the advantage of the toss , being in a minority of six runs at the end of an innings . But after that the result was neverin doubt. Of a successful second innings one of the most striking features was the hitting of Mr. Jessop , who madehis 42 in 15 minutes . The Oxford captain fittingly was the best scorer in a rather disappointing display of batting . Cambridge, who were all round the better side , wonby 179 runs. FirstInnings. C. J.
