Ross Mackenzie, at Toronto , in 1872 , threw 140 yards nine inches . W. F. Forbes , at Eton College Sports , in March, 1876 , threw 132 yards (best performance in England) . George Davidson , at Clontarf , NewSouth Wales, threw 130 yards in 1889 ; E. Crane , threw a distance of 128 yards 10½ inches , in 1889 , at Melbourne; W . H. Game, at Oxford, March13, 1873, threw 127 yards one foot three inches ; G. Brown is said to have thrown 137 yards on WolvertonCommon, in 1819, but this performance is not authenticated . RECORDDISTANCE A BAIL SENT FROM THE WICKET.-Arthur Mold, for Lancashire , in Surrey's first innings , bowled Lohmannwith a ball that sent the bail 63 yards six inches from the stumps, Oval, August22, 1896. In a match other than first class the record is 62 yards. L. C. Docker was bowledbya ball from H. Rotherhamwhich sent the bail the above- mentioned distance .
