2 0 0 LILLYWHITE'S CRICKETERS' ANNUAL. hands. Gets considerable work on from the off , and when he has more commandof pitch should be a dangerous bowler . W. E. Wickham , 1897 (9.47 ) : Apainstaking bat, whocan score off a loose ball . Is very keen, and is to be congratulated on the improvement he has shownall round in his cricket since the beginning of the term. He should learn to vary his pace more when bowling. H. E. Hewitt , 1897 (10:41 ) : Has pretty strokes all round the wicket , and now he has gained confidence should rapidly come to the front . His ground fielding is very good, and he can usually be relied on to hold a catch . V. Cliff , 1897 (8.53 ) : Agood all -round cricketer , though somewhat slack in the field . Hasa very powerful drive to the off . With pains and far morepractice he might be really good . C. Hatt , 1897 (9-33 ) : A most promising and stylish bat, who should be of great use in the future . Wantsto show far morelife in the field . W. G. Mousley , 1897 (14:59 ) : Dislikes a yorker on the leg stump, buthas proved his batting capabilities on more than one occasion .
