Campbell (1893-4-5-6-7 ) : Has made an excellent captain , and is to be heartily congratulated on the success of the team. A very dangerous school bat, strong in defence , and a very powerful hitter . H ehas done somebig performances . A useful , steady bowler ,but hedid not goon nearly enough. A safe field . J. T. Turner (1896-7 ) : Areally good bat, with fine strokes on the off ; effective bowler on a fast wicket; rather inclined to be short . Goodfield . *J. A. Lumsden (1896-7 ) : Haslost muchof his pace, but has proved effective on manyoccasions ; better bat than his average would indicate . Fine out-field . *J. R. Lindsay (1896-7 ): Not nearly so successful a bowler as last year. Greatly improved of late as a bat. Safe but slow in the field . * W. G. Glover (1896-7 ) : Afine bat, especially on the off; hash a da lot of b a d luck. Uncertain, but fair field . *B. Blacklock (1896-7 ) : A very useful player ; has comeon a lot in batting , and has fine strokes off his legs . Safe wicket -keeper. D. B. Monyреппу (1896-7 ) : Hard hitter , but has had little success . Very smart field in any position . Good fast bowler. *W. H. Todd (1897) : A nugly bat , possessed of awonderful eye ; has played several very fine innings . Good point . L. West (1897) : Hard hitter , with , however, rather weak defence ; should be useful next year. Safe, butvery slow in the field . *J. S. B. Brough (1897 ) : Hits well to leg ; wanting in defence .
