Thoughhe has done some good things behind the wicket , injury to his hands has handicapped him severely . Rather wanting in experience in the field as captain . *J. D. Logan: A very good all -round cricketer , with a thorough knowledge of the game. Rather disappointing at times with the bat. A very good, reliable bowler ; fast , with anoff -break. Smartand sure in the field . *A. B. Mitchell : Hasplayed some excellent innings , and showed great promise , but has not quite comeup to expectations . In back play he is too crampedin style . Fair field . Can bowl if necessary ; slow, with off -break. *W. E. S. Scott : Dis- appointing as a bat. Slow, but sure in the field . *P. B. Donaldson : Weak, butimproved as a bat. Fields smartly at slip , where he has made some good catches . Has had some success as a change bowler . *J. B. Craik : Very muchimproved as a bat, though uncertain for an over or two, Goodsteady bowler , mediumpace, with slight break. Fields well on the whole at point , though as a rule stands too far out. P. M. Murdoch: A useful bowler, at times doing great execution , but uncertain . Hasmaderuns, though with primitive ideas of batting . Poor field . Should, however, with practice make auseful cricketer . C. E. Loseby : Hasplayed one or two useful innings , but has a very peculiar style , which will prevent him ever becoming good, unless hegets out of it . Badfield . Hasbowled at times . S. E. Rigg: A promising bat,but not steady enough in his ground at present . Very fair field . Fairly safe catch . J. E. McCausland : Has improved as a he runs bat, though he gets runs very slowly , and plays with but little variety . though handicapped by the fielding . Slow in the field , but does his best . St. S.
