Wickets. 2 5 1 0 2 5 5 (16) Hampshirev. Philadelphians. Bournemouth , July 1, 2 and 3. Theout -cricket of the Philadelphians on this occasion proved to be faulty andthis had a good deal to do with their defeat . Theybeganwell enough on a good wicket , and indeed the score at one time was 253 , with only half the side out. The tail , however, gave little help , and after this the gamewent mostly in favour of Hants . Major Spens (118 not out and 34) played fine cricket each time, and in the second innings Barton was in his best form. Mr. Bohlen batted well when the Philadelphians went in again , but otherwise their display was somewhat disappointing . Hampshire won by five wickets . Hampshire, 281 and 178 (5 wickets ) ; total , 459. Philadelphians , 292 and 163 ; total, 455. B A T T I N G A V E R A G E S . Inns. T i m e s notout. R u n s. M o s ti n a nI n n s.
