In his time one of the best Australian cricketers . Playedfor N e wSouth Wales against Victoria from 1858 to 1879. A good wicket and fine wicket -keeper . W A K E, W. R. (March). Agreat supporter of cricket and football in Sheffield . Afine hitter , and did good service for Yorkshire on several occasions . WEST, G. H. (Oct. ) For manyyears cricket contributor to the Field , and sub- sequently Sporting Editor to the Times . WILLES, Rev. E. H. L. (Sept. 9). In the Winchester Eleven of 1848 , and sub- sequently played for Oxford University in 1852-3-4 , as well as for Kent. WINSLOW, O. E. (Oct. 13) . Oneof the best batsmen in the Sussex Eleven in the earlier seventies . Afine hitter and good field .
