(Eton and Cambridge ).--Bats in neat style ; a sure field ; plays little first -class cricket n o w. HIGGINS, G. F.-A nexcellent bat, with a strong defence , and good field . JOHNSTON , A. S.-An exceedingly good bat, with a strong defence and great hitting powers ; a capital field . KORTRIGHT , C. J. (Tonbridge ).-One of the best amateur fast bowlers in Eng- land; muchimproved bat, and good field . LITLEHALES, C. G. (Forest School and Oxford).- Auseful bat, sure field ; can k e e pwicket. LUCAS , A. P. (Uppingham and Cambridge ).-Plays in correct style , with great defence ; good field , and useful slow bowler. MCGAHEY, C.-Asmart bat, quite one of the best in the County; good field . OWEN, H. G. (Cambridge). A sound and careful batsman; a good field ; captained the team ably. PERRIN, P.-One of the best bats in the County; strong defence , and canhit well at times. G L O U C E S T E R S H I R E . GRACE, W. G .-Still with no superiors as an all -round cricketer , though his career in first -class matches extends over 32 years . His bowling requires a lot of watching , and he is generally of use against the best bats . In his day the best all-round cricketer in England; hits even nowwell , and has no superior at point . A useful lob bowler. KITCAT, S.A.P. (Marlborough).-A real good bat; fair field ; bowls a little , m e d i u mpace.
