Burnie (capt .), 1894-5-6 (8) : A stylish and finished bat, with good strokes all round the wicket ; has been very unlucky in respect of run-getting . Α good slow bowler , keeping an excellent length . A splendid field anywhere . G.A. M. Docker , 1894-5-6 (25) : The best all -round manin the team. Hasborne the brunt of the bowling and has been very successful . Bats in a free and attractive style , and has shown great improvement on last year's form . Asafe catch ,but his ground fielding might be better . P. T. Allen , 1894-5-6 (11) : As a wicket -keeper has been greatly handicapped by the hardness of the wickets , and has in consequence scarcely done himself justice . An improved bat, though rather too fond of a wild pull . R. B. Durrant , 1895-6 (10): Astylish batwith an especially fine cut . With practice should make auseful change bowler . A n excellent field . C. Freston , 1895-6 (10) : Has been singularly unfortunate in the bowling line ; as a bat can play a very safe game as long as his-patience lasts . Magnificent field anywhere ; holder of fielding cup, season 1896. J. D. Finch , 1896 (12) : Bats in a style peculiarly his own ; is too fond of afeeble stroke into mid-off's hands . Hasa powerful drive , which he does not bring sufficiently into play . At times fields brilliantly . N. H. Tubbs , 1896 (15): Asteady little bat with an excellent off-drive . At present too small to really dohimself justice ; should prove very useful next year . Afair field at point . L. M. T. Clark , 1896 (13): A hard-hitting bat with very little defence . Splendid out-field . Moderate slow bowler . J. M. Figgis , 1895-6 (5) : An unlucky bat whoseems to have lost confidence in himself . Possesses a strong off-drive ,which he seldom makes use of. Fair field , but does not get down to the ball nearly enough . S. Turnbull , 1896 (13) : A fair medium-pace bowler with aneasy action . Came on wonderfully as a bat towards the end of the season.
