Castley (7) : As a bat has not comeon as muchas was hoped. Astrong hitter , but lacks defence , and does not always play with a straight bat . Fast mediumbowler, with somework, but rather erratic at present ; should improve with experience . Good field . E. D. Southcomb (7) : Fast mediumbowler withoutm u c hc o m m a n dof the ball , buthasdonegoodservice at times. P o o r bat; mustlearn to time the ball. G o o dfield . W. E. M. Mainprice (11) : A promising bat, with good style and plenty of defence ; should do well next year. H. G. Spring (15) : Another promising bat, but does not always play with a straight bat. Whenhe gets a little more confidence should improve rapidly . A useful change bowler , but has a tendency to sacrifice pitch to pace . E. P. Lorange (12) : Scores rapidly off loose bowling ; is rather inclined to play with a crooked bat; should learn to keep the ball downandmake greater use of his reach . Slowbut sure field . Hemphill (25) : Agraceful andfinished batsman, though rather unfortunate in the early part of the season . Plays well forward with a straight bat, and has a specially pretty stroke to leg. Has madesome fine catches at point . Can keep a good length for several overs . *C. Yule (13) : Asomewhat in-and-out performer , but has been successful in school matches. Scores fast whenset , making most of his runs in front of cover. Moderate wicket -keeper . *A. Brock (14) : Good bat with plenty of power ; wonderfully improved on the leg side . Good field . *O. V. Payne (5): Useful all-roundm a n. *J. H.Banks (9) : Powerful but uncertain bat, with a tendency to violate L a w24. Brilliant field . *M. Baines (14) : A promising and keen cricketer . C.
