Swanston , captain (1893-4-5-6 ) : A steady and patient bat, with an excellent cut, but fortune has been against him. A fair , field and has made a very good captain. R. Ross (1895-6 ) : Worksvery hard in all departments of the game, and his fast bowling has beenmost effective . *G. R. Ritchie (1896 ) : Deserves to be ranked amongthe best deep fields we have had here, andhas more than once shown a wonderful power of keeping up his wicket . *A. C. Cunningham (1895-6 ) : Has batted well o nseveral occasions , and proved his value. A dashing field , though hardly safe . F. W.
