Campbell (1893-4-5-6 ) : Has played some fine innings and hits well , but very weak on the off , and very uncertain on the leg stump. A sa bowler has improved immensely; keeps a capital length . Hasperhaps hardly bowled enough . A safe field in the country , though uncertain nearer the wicket . *E. C. Maclaren (1894-5-6 ) : Hasimproved since last year as a bat; good on the on, but is still weakin cutting . Smart short- slip . *P. Mitford (1895-6 ) : Avery useful memberof the eleven . A fine bat, scoring fast whenonce set , but is rather too impatient . Fast right -hand bowler , rather erratic , but sends in some good balls . Splendid field . J. T. Turner (1896 ) : A steady bat, with the best defence in the eleven ; was greatly missed at the end of the season . Goodfield . J. A. Lumsden (1896 ) : Fast right-handbowler; has taken a lot of wickets ; hardly so effective at the end as at the beginning of the season . Aplucky bat and a good field . J. R. Lindsay (1896) : Left-hand slow bowler ; has been very useful , as he seldom tires andkeeps a very good length . Hasplayed two or three plucky innings . Slowbut safe in the field . W. G. Glover (1896) : Afine bat on afast wicket, cutting beautifully ; not so effective on a slow wicket . Hasbrought off some smart catches , but is still uncertain in the field . B. Blacklock (1896) : Goodwicket- keeper, keeping down the byes well , and taking the ball in good style . Improving as a bat . *T. Jackson (1896 ) : Ahard -hitting bat . Played a very fine innings against Blair Lodge. G. Turnbull (1896) : A promising bat; played several extremely plucky innings ; apt to play across . Slow but safe in the field . D. B. Monypenny (1896 ) : Disappointing as a bat , frequently throwing away his wicket by a wild stroke ; a fast scorer when once started . Veryfine cover-point , getting over a lot of ground.
