Taylor (captain ) : Captained the teamwell from a point of 'vantage behind the wicket , where his keeping was invaluable ; he takes all balls with ease , stumps quickly , and catches safely . Agoodandconsistent bat, whohas madea very large number of runs ; cuts well , andscores manyruns on the leg side . *H. R. Parkes : A fine free bat, with a good off -drive and late cut ; very consistent . Goodfield . Canbowl a little . Hasleft . A. E. Hind: Avery good and steady bowler ; breaks both ways, and varies his pace. A sound bat, and very consistent . Good field at slip . Is leaving . *J. Chapman: Not realised expectations . Played better towards the end, having a good off -drive . Bowls a little . Poor field . Has left . *K. E. M. Barker : A good sound bat, though not improved muchsince last year. Agood change bowler. In the field sometimes brilliant , sometimes moderate. Hasleft . C. E. Wilson : A good bowler ; has improved a great deal ; his lobs are also very useful , and at times of very great service . His batting is at times brilliant , though it is somewhat uncertain . Poor field . H. F. Terry : Played one good innings , but his play wasdisappointing afterwards . Fair change bowler. Goodfield .
