Carter : Thebest bat in the team, and has also been the most consistent scorer . Fair change bowler . A brilliant field anywhere. Has not been sufficiently severe in the field . J. H. R. Fraser : Hasbeen invaluable on more than one occasion , thanks to a goodeye, but as a rule cannot be depended on, and rarely plays with a straight bat. A moderate field . *C. H. Jupp : Fair-fast mediumbowler, with high delivery . Hasnot metwith muchluck; changes his place at times . Astrong bat, with a good late cut . A slow field . *N. S. A. Harrison : A magnificent hitter , but should pay more attention to his defence , which is very weak. A very useful bumpybowler . Covers a lot of ground in the out-field , but cannot stoop . *W. T. Giles : Thebest fast bowler in the team. Keeps a good length , but should bowl on the off-side more than he does at present . A much improved bat andvery fair field . F. C. Smith : A useful bat , with good driving powers. Rather weak in the start . Good dashing field , though rather uncertain catch . W. T. White : A very promising bat, with good defence and hitting powers. Withcare ought to be first -rate . Avery safe field at mid-off. A. H. Spooner : A much improved wicket -keeper . Stops well the rather moderate bowling , but fails to stick to the catches . As a bat his back play is good, but forward style is too cramped . C. B. Smith : Avery stylish bat with good defence . First -class field at point . *J. Kennedy : A disappointing cricketer , though at times shows good form with the bat. Hasnot taken enough pains to improve at nets . F. E. G. Talbot : Fair fast bowler . A correct though unsuccessful bat . Apoor field .
