He plays in good style , fields well at point , and bowls as a change. G. H. Noton: Is a strong bat, with good defence and considerable hitting power . Simp- son : Bats steadily and can hit but unfortunately often gets his leg in front of the wicket . H eis a good field at third m a n. E. H. L. Steinthal : W a svery successful as a bat . Hehas great punishing power , and an especially fine cut . H ebowls sometimes as a change. J. Daniell : Is a fine and determined hitter and a very good field . H e should cultivate judgment in running. C. M. Benson : Is a straight but rather plain mediumpace bowler, and a good field . H ehasnot yet mademuch advance in batting . N. O. Tagart : Is a pretty bat, cutting especially well , and bowls as a change. H e is rather uncertain inthe field . S. V. Williams : Improvedvery muchas a bat, and has defence and a good off-drive . H efields well , and bowls occasionally . *L. B. Fyffe : Is a promising and deceptive left -handed bowler. H ewas very successful w h e ntheconditions were favourable. H ewants moredash and life in the field and with the bat . * W. G. Garnett : Is a very promising left -handed bat, a n da fine field at a distancef r o mthe wicket. *F. D . Nicholson: Is a useful and persevering bowler , and varies his pace a good deal , but he is very weak in the field . H e plays straight , and is probably a better bat than he was generally thought . A thoroughly good field and fair bowler. W. A. Lobb : A n excellent bat, his driving powers being par- ticularly good. Avery good field at point . P. F. Knox: A sound, steady bat, and fine field anywhere. Did not bowl as well as was expected , but having a very good action will doubtless come on again next year. C. J. L. Gibson : Agood fast right -hand bowler. Is distinctly fast , with good length. Is a fair bat, with good driving power. P. Anthony : A most promising bat, playing well all round the wicket, but is too muchinclined to take liberties . Must improve his fielding . S. M. Douglas : A good sound bat , hitting clean and straight . A safe catch. J. Whitehead: A n improving bat. With a little more energy in his strokes he would be much more dangerous . Agood out- field . T. G. Treadgold : Avery useful bat . Ought certainly to score another year . A n energetic field and safe catch . E. R. Howell : A medium-paced bowler, with a very nice high action . A hard hitter with the bat. W. W. Godfrey: A tpresent slow behind the wickets , but is sure to improve with age. Ratherrough as a bat, but is quite capable of making some runs . B. S. Moss- Blundell : Agood hard -hitting bat , having steadied down and proportionately improved . Should certainly be good next year .
