Hasmaderuns at times , but spoils himself bya chronic maniafor forward play . G. H. Tapsfield : Watchesthe ball well , and would be quite good if he could avoid chopping at balls on the leg stump. As abowler hasvariety , and can bowl a difficult ball , but does not keep a length . *T. S. F. Pratt : Plays very straight andhits clean . Hasalmost always lost his wicket fromcarelessness . Might be a good bowler if he took more trouble . *L. W. Sadleir -Jackson : Hasplayed some good innings . Hits hard and clean , and has a straight bat. Apt to give catches to the bowler. A good out-field . *B. Sandbach : Thoughwithout muchstyle , has becomeperhaps the best bat in the team. Watchesthe ball well , and is very careful . Once bowled excellently , buthassince lost his length unaccountably . Agood field . *W. F. B. Warman: Hisbatting lacks both variety and crispness . Hasa good off -drive . Seemsto have lost all his power of defence . A fairly safe though very slow field . *V. J. Higgon : A rather tame bat. Cannot play a short ball . A fair field . C. T. Barton: Somewhatof a failure in matches, but has batted well in games. H a sa slack style , and mostly plays too late on the ball . Apoor field . *R. H. Pooley : A very good slow bowler, with a large off-break, but lacks variety . Hashit well . A n unsafe field . but throws in beautifully . А. М. С. Nicholl : A fair bat who has been uulucky . Has a dangerous habit of "chopping " at off balls . A good bowler , difficult , and with a good length . L.F. Goldsmid : A very useful and plucky bat , if ugly . A really excellent point . Might make a good wicket -keep . C. De M. La Trobe : A painstaking bat, without much style . Does not use his wrists . As a wicket -keep has hardly fulfilled expectations . Opponents.
