Druce (Marlborough ) : A most promising and improving player , his play on the on-side being very conspicuous . Scored very consistently in the matches he played in. Has a very taking style . H. J. Davenport (Repton) : A most consistent but slow run-getter , and is a sound player, having a good variety of strokes . Played manygood innings . Afair field . J. H. Stogdon (Harrow) : Agood hard-hitting batsman, but lacks defence. Is a rather uncertain field . F. J. Peers (Charterhouse ) : H eis one ofthe hitters of the team, and is a useful slow right -hand bowler and a good field . E. H. Bray (Charterhouse ) : See University Eleven. C. E. M. Wilson (Uppingham) : See University Eleven . E. Garnett (Charterhouse ): A good dashing player and scores his runs very quickly , having plenty of strokes all roundthewicket . Afair field and can get a wicket occasionally with his slows . Captain for next year. C. L. Alexander (Shrewsbury) : A fine hitter anda dangerous run-getter . Bowls fast medium, but is apt to be erratic . H. W. de Zoete (Eton): A good left -hand bowler with a very pretty delivery . Has bowledvery well at times . A nuncertain bat and a fair field . P. W. Cobbold (Eton) : See University Eleven . W. Mortimer (Marlborough ) : A good sound patient batsmanand a good field . It is a pity he does not play cricket with the same amount of interest as whenat school . Can bowl a bit if given a chance . H. B. B. Hawkins (Whitgift ) : Did not come quiteite up to his school reputation in bowling and batting ,but is evidently sadly handicapped by his badknee.
