Moore : Avery good bat, with a numberof strokes on both sides of the wicket . H escored very heavily this year, and should have had further trial after his succesful début in the Yorkshire match. Has quite a style of his own. J. G. McCormick: Avery fine bat, scoring freely when set on any kind of wicket . Hashad a most successful season . Should restrain a tendency to hit too early in his innings . Goodfield , and has kept wicket with moderate success . K. Clarke : Avery goodbat, with very fine strokes , especially on the off -side . Hashadno luck this year in batting , but has bowled very well . As afield he has no " superior ." J. S. Skrimshire : A fine bat, scoring very freely on both sides of the wicket . A good field , but apt to get careless . G. D. McCormick : Has bowled with moderate success , but would be very good if he had morecommandover the ball . His batting and fielding leave room for improvement . J. H. Hayes : Hasbeen by far our most successful bowler . Has always taken wickets and kept his end up. Has had few opportunities of showing his batting powers. Moderatefield . G. B. Norman: Very good bat with sound defence , and has scored most consistently . Hasa nasty flourish , which he would do well to get rid of. Good field , especially in the deep. G. H. Pethybridge : Pretty left -handbat, but shaky at starting . Goodand energetic field . W. A. Rix: Goodhard-hitting bat, but lacks defence . Useful bowler. Should try and movewith more care and alacrity in the field . S. C. Moseley : Hard-hitting bat; should learn to hit the right ball .
