Spittle , A. H. Wiggin, H. R. Wilkinson,Dr. Wilson. Hon. Secretary : W .Ansell , 78, Bristol Road, Edgbaston. Secretary : R. V. Ryder. W I T H, on good wickets , a fairly good batting side , Warwickshire's out-cricket failed onm a n yoccasions . Asa consequence , the record for the season was not by any means good. Unfortunately , even in the batting W. Quaife was singularly out of form, and one of the safest batsmenof 1895 was compara- tively a failure . O nthe other handW. G. Quaife , Diver , and Mr. Bainbridge played considerably well throughout , and Lilley and L a win only a slightly lesser degree . These five formed the nucleus of a strong run-getting side. O fthe bowlers Whitehead, so successful in 1895 , was out of it , so muchso that hewasonly tried in four innings . Pallett andL a whad to bear the brunt ofthe bowling, but both were expensive . Werethe bowling anything like as goodas the batting Warwickshire would havean eleven that would take a lot of beating bythe best. * * * Opponents. R e s u l t sof M a t c h e s.
