Eton v . Harrow . July 12 and 13. Drawn matches have become of such frequent occurrenco in the meetings between Eton and Harrow as to give colour to the suggestion that the game should be extended to three days. The sides were in this instance well matched, and though the Eton boys led off with a fine total the Harrovians succeeded in passing it. When 2 M runs on, late on the second day, Pilkington, the Light Blue captain, closed his innings. Stogdon’s 124 for Harrow, though the highest, was probably not the best in the match. Another Harrovian, Crawley, had the ill-fortune to be run out when he had got 78 and was splendidly set. Chinnery (75 and 64) was the hero of the Etonians' batting, and his partnership with Lubbock ( 66 ) when Eton went in again gave their side just the confidence that was needed. The score will be found among those of the principal Public School contests of the year. HARROW BOWLING. First Innings. Second Innings. Overs. Mdns. Runs. Wkts. Overs. Mdns. Runs. Wkts.
