Lancashire, at Leicester, on August 29. Good Performances with the Ball. Playing for Dr. Aid. T. Daniell’s XI. v. Portslade Wanderers, on July 25, Dr. C. D. Hamilton obtained eight wickets for 19 runs and caught the other two batsmen, the match being over one minute before time.—In match on June G, at Manchester, between Lancashire v. Kent, Mold took 10 of 17 Kent wickets that fell to the bowlers.—In match on January 19, at Broken Hill for Mr. Stoddart’s XI., in second innings of XVIII. of Broken Hill, Brockwell took seven wickets for seven runs. Good Wicket-Keeping. In match v. Yorkshire at Derby, on June 20, W. Storer, the Derbyshire wicket-keeper, gave no extras in either innings.—In Yorkshire’s first innings of 3G3, at Bradford, on May 30, Lilley, the Warwickshire wicket-keeper, did not give a bye. Stoddart, and (7. Brann, have made a hundred in each innings in a first-class match.—At Melbourne, Melbourne v. Hawthorn, Melbourne scored 533 for 7 wickets ; Hugh Trumble made *252 and Houston 148. — On January 14, at Adelaide, Mr. Stoddart's v. Australia, their second innings Australia scored 411. Australia v. Victoria, in second innings of South Australia, Jones, finding the ball inside his shirt, took it out and gave it to his opponent ; he was of course, given out.— On March 6, at Melbourne, England v. Australia, in five days 63,649 persons paid for admission ; the receipts were £4,003 14s.__
