B r \ k X' G.—A fine free bat and good field ; was second in the batting averages in 1895, with 27*09. . , . . C ollins , A.—Made his debut for the County m 1895 ; a good left-hand slow bowler, but lacks experience ; good bat and field. H easman , W. G.—A very good bat, playing in good style; safe field, and fair change bowler; was unable to play much in 1895. N ewham , W—A very fine bat; good field; at times a useful change bowler; played consistently good cricket throughout the season and was third in the averages with 23.87. P ry , C. B. (liepton and Oxford).—An excellent all-round cricketer and a most valuable acquisition to the County; is a fine free-hitting bat, and a good fast bowler. Mi trdoch , W. L.—Still one of the very best amateur batmen of the day; and a fine judge of the game ; played one fine innings of 220 last season, and has captained the side with great judgment. R anjitsiniui , K. S. (Cambridge).—Made an astonishing advance as a batsman last season, and on his form is one of the very best bats in England, hitting well all round the wicket with a beautiful leg stroke; headed the Sussex averages with 41*33, and had the fine average of 49*30 in all matches for the season ; his aggregate for the season wras 1,775 runs, and included four centuries. W il son . G. L. (Brighton and Oxford).—A dangerous hat. hitting well all round; a good field ; on the few* occasions he assisted the County last season was of great service, and played one fine innings of 171 ; is also a useful change bowler. H artley , J. C. (Cambridge and Oxford).—A very promising slow* right-hand bowler, breaks both ways; good field, and useful bat. WARW ICKSH IRE . B ain bridge , H. W. (Eton and Cambridge).—One of the best amateur batsmen of the day, playing a safe game; useful fast howler on a bumpy wicket; keen cricketer ; safe catch and reliable field ; had a very successful season, scored over 1,000 runs for his County, and came through the season with the good average of 33*40 in County matches, and 34*17 in all matches; captained the eleven with great judgment. D ock i. it, L . C.—Good bat. very free when set. cuts and drives well, especially when opposed to fast howling; safe field in the country; only played on a few occasions in 1895, and was much missed by the side. G lomjl A. C. S. — A steady bat, and good medium pace bow ler ; his first season with the County, and a great acquisition. H ill , J. h.—Sound bat; hits well all round the wicket, generally getting runs ; good field, safe catch ; was unable to’assist the County often in 1895. H il l , H. G.—Good left-hand bowler, and fair bat; only played once in 1895. S’ elhon , A. L. (Ridley).—Was tried once for the County last season, but without success; is a batsman of the careful order, a fair wicket-keeper, and good out-field. 1’ k k c iv a l , Key. E. (Malvern).—A good batsman, with plenty of h it ; was tried for the County in some of the later matches in 1895, and with great success; a safe field. * K h <» i »> h , A .—A smart batsman; played one good innings last season.
