(Rugby).—Reappeared for the County in 1895, and showed all his old form, coming through the season with the good average of 22; hits with great vigour, and scores very fast; very tine out-field, with a sure pair of hands. (Harrow and Oxford).—A batsman with excellent defence, cutting very smartly; still one of the very best bats in England on a difficult wicket; a safe field; had the good average of 30 25 in 1895. W e l l s , O. M. (Cambridge)—Made his debut for Middlesex in 1895, under the residential rules ; is a first-rate batsman, with any amount of patience; a good slow bowler, and a smart field.
