Bussell (8’58): A good hard working field and free bat, but lacks the straightness necessary to make a good batsman. He is at times an effective change bowler. II. S. It. Hayter (14): Fields well at point. He is also a steady bat, and is, as a rule, reliable. H. B. Bonsey (5*45): A hard hitter, but devoid of care. As a bowler he would greatly improve by bowling slower and studying length. Fair field. J. H. Hamilton (12): A good straight bat, but lacking the confidence necessary to score consistently. He is an off break bowler with a puzzling length, and, as an all-round player, is most useful to his team. E. C. Bussell (10*92): A very promising bat, with a strong defence; a safe field, and generally reliable. TT. C. Houghton (7*41): A wicket keeper of no mean ability, whose want of standing up is his chief fault. He is an improving bat, and with care should prove an acquisition to any club. IT. M. Robson ( 2*5): Has played very little owing to examinations, and con sequently done little that is worthy of notice. L. A. Baddeley (11*27): A steady bat, but wanting confidence. J. A. Protit (10*54): A powerful bat, but requires more energy to be useful. (I. II. Pickering (10): A bowler breaking from leg with a good length, but exposes his deliveries by obtaining too much work. Fair bat and field. L. E. Janson (11*5): A good reliable deep field, and an improving bat. F. Mayor (4*48): A good left-liand bowler, breaking naturally with the arm. BOWLING AVERAGES. G. H.
