Turnbull : A powerful bat when set Best on a fast wicket, as his play is mostly forward, but not a scorer. A fine field anywhere. F. II. Fasson : Plays a good defensive game, and shows correct methods, but has not acquired any punishing power. An excellent field. *77. A. Taylor : Improved considerably in bowling and fielding, but his batting was still too showy to be effective. J. M. B. Duncan: A prom ising bowler, but since he has attempted to bowl faster he has lost accuracy. An ugly, but an improving bat. J. F. Thompson : A very steady left-handed bat, but without any o f a left-hander s pow7er o f punishing. *A. Morton : Much improved in his batting, and has played several very useful innings. Wou ld make more runs if he did not so often hit across the wicket. A very active field. JV. D. P. lla rd is ty : A rapidly improving batsman, but as yet without much knowledge o f the game. Takes pains at practice, and learns quickly. *C. A . Cunningham : His batting is stronger than last year, but he still loses his wicket too often through impatience to score. His bowling has often been very useful, <specially in the later matches. His fielding is generally very good. It. T. Stilson: A good bat with an attractive style, standing up well to the fastest bowling. He takes much trouble to improve, and deserves a higher average. A very smart field. K. It. Jones: Can make a few runs sometimes, but his batting is rather careless. Towards the end o f the season it was discovered that he could bowl, and get wickets when the other bowlers failed. J. S. Geilcie : A fairly good bowler in practice, sometimes sending down a really difficult ball, but is unfortunately erratic in matches. Fields very well, but is still quite an ineffective bat.
