Gowans , cap ta in (1893-4 -5) : Capital wicket keeper. As a bat has come on enormously, and has proved himself a run-getter and a difficult wicket to take. As a captain has been excellent off and on the field; has managed the team extremely well. J. A . Campbell (1893-4-5): Good all-round cricketer; dangerous and useful bowler, and safe field. Has played some fine innings, and come off when he was wanted. A little shaky at starting, but has good punishing powers, plenty of patience, and the faculty of making runs in school matches. Steady medium-paced bowler. *C . E . Dalziel (1894-5): Right-hand slow bowler with leg break; more effective on a hard than on a soft wicket. Good bat on a hard wicket, with particularly strong off- drive. Improving field. *D. E. Macintosh (1894-5) : Somewhat disappointing as a bat. Medium right-hand bowler, with good length ; has taken a lot of wickets. A’. C . Maclaren (1894-5) : A good bat at beginning of season ; fallen off latterly; gets runs on the on-side. Smart field in the slips. */\ D. Bailey (1895) : An excellent bat, with fine off-strokes ; has scored most consistently. On the whole quite the best bat of the year. *D. Miller (1893-5): Very fast right-hand bowler; straight, but sometimes short, occasionally coming across a Tot. Greatly improved bat. Fine field. * IV. E . Robertson (1895): Medium ? ace right-hand bowler, with big off-break ; very deadly on a sticky wicket. improved bat. Good cover-point. P. Mitford (1895) : Has played some good innings ; has powerful strokes off his legs, but is very rash. Fine out-field. A . G. Fleming (1895): Useful bat; keeps up his wicket well, while scoring slowly. Good point. *W M. Macmillan (1895) : Has fallen off as a b a t ; hits hard. Is an excellent out-field and a change bowler.
