Good slow bowler; very good bat when at his best, with sound defence and no lack of punishing power; very good field. */>. MacLav rhi: Good medium pace bowler, though without some of the lire which made his bowling so dangerous last year* Most useful bat. hitting hard with very fair defence. Disappointing in the field. *//. A\ MacLanvin ; Very good free bat, though rather uncertain for the first few overs; hits clean and hard, and should make a first-class cricketer. Very fair wicket-keeper for his first season, showing good promise. *M. S. Scott: Fair bat, though very slow run-getter ; should try to acquire more freedom. Good out-field ; fairly safe catch. A. C. E. Elborough : Very useful bat, with sound defence and good cut; plays very straight; slow' run-getter, but shows decided promise. Good field. ./. />. Logan: Fair bowler, medium pace, though ant to be short. Much improved as a bat and field; poor runner between wickets. C . S. Scott: Promised well as a bat, and can hit hard, but lost his treed om. and was rather disappointing towards the end of the season. Very good out-field, covering a lot of ground; safe catch. J. A. Johnston: Straight and steady bat, and has played some most useful innings, though a poor judge of a run. Poor as a field, but improved. D. Cttnde: Very fair (medium to fast) change bowler. As a bat hits hard, but without much defence. Fair field. S. S.Mycrscough : Fairly successful bat, with good off-stroke, but rather weak defence. Fair field. *JR. A.
