Thomas: Has been very successful as a medium pace right-liand bowler. As a bat cuts beautifully, and can hit, but wants defence. Good field. The eleven had a successful season under his captaincy. *A\ 0. J>e G e x : Is a good left-hand medium pace bowler, with plenty of resource and patience. Hardly improved as much as was expected as a bat. A very good short slip. *J/. E . JIcConoghey: A very useiul and generally reliable bat. and safe and good field. Howls for a change, but is apt to be short. *W. N. l'ilkington: Has much improved as a bat, playing in very good style. Fielded steadily at point. G. IT Noton: Is a useful bat, with good defence, but rather cramped style. He kept wicket fairly well. *A. Z). Bartleet: Is a decidedly good bat, with good punishing powers all round. Fair field. *A. M. Simpson: Is a good and promising bat, with plenty of power. A fair field. *E. II. L. Steinthal: Played some brilliant innings on hard wickets, but he must learn to play back. Poor field. He bowled occasionally. J. Daniell: Is a useful and determined hitter, and fine field. S . «/. Samtell: His batting wants more life, but he keeps his wicket up. Is a good field. C. M.
