A match reduced considerably by heavy rain, without any play at all on the third day. Brown (65) and Tunnicliffe ( 68 ) put on 95 for Yorkshire’s first wicket, and Denton (not out 77) and Hunter (45) 102 for the last. The chief scorers for Cambridge were N. F. Druce (60) and W. McG. A small scoring match and a disappointing show on the part of Yorkshire. Rain had affected the wicket, but still the play was by no moans up to York- shire's best form against a moderate side of England. The highest score of the match was Alec Ilearne’s 44 for England.
