The result was a match of high scoring , realising an aggregate of 870 runs for 33 wickets . There was one big score on each side-Walter Sugg's 121 in first innings of County, and C. O. Sewell's 128 for the SouthAfricans. Thelatter was in while 212 runs were added. Suggmade121 out of 172 in two hours and a half , and with only one chance at 66. A tthe finish the SouthAfricans wanted175 to win with seven wickets to fall . Derbyshire , 325 and 197 ; total , 522. South Africans , 300 and 48 (three wickets ; total , 348.
