Streatham , the palace were obliged to close their innings on the fall of the ninth wicket , because the batsman left to go in, was at the time in a neighbouring pond saving a child from drowning . Well-known Memberof M.C.C. and Surrey County C.C.; played for Kensington Park and Incogniti . COLMAN, SAMUEL. One of the eleven brothers who played in Norfolk in the seventies . A member of the Harrow Eleven in 1871-72 . Did good work for the London Playing Field's Committee up to the time of his d e a t h. KEMPSON, M. (June 20). A member of the Cheltenham Eleven in 1848 and two following years . Subsequently played for Cambridge in 1881 and 1883. Bowledfor Gentlemen with Sir Frederick Bathurst through both innings of Players in 1853. LANGDON, REV. G. L. Played for Sussex in 1839 and for Gentlemen v. Players in 1841. WasHon. Sec. of Sussex County C.C. LEE, GEORGE. (October 29th). Umpired for M.C.C. and in principal matches at Lords, the Oval, and on other County Grounds, as well as in Public School matches . One of the best of his day. H ewas in his eighty -sixth year. MEARES, COL. G. L. (August 21). Played a good deal for M.C.C. and Military C l u b s.
