POLAND, Rev. F. W. (Cambridge). Goodbat and field : also keeps wicket well . PRITCHETT , G. E. B. (Charterhouse ). A first -rate wicket -keeper, has improved) considerably as a bat during the past season . SHAW, REV. E. D. (Oxford). Afirst -rate cricketer all -round, is agreat acqusition to the county, SWIFT, E. L. A n excellent cricketer being a fine bat, useful bowler and a good field ; only played one match during the past season . K E N T . ATKINS, F. M. A fairly good wicket -keeper and a plucky hard-hitting batsman. JONES. REV. F. MEYRICK, (Cambridge). A really fine batsman; unable to play often for the County. KEMP, M. C. (Harrowand Oxford). A good bat, and first -class wicket -keeper ; only able to play in the later county matches . KNOWLES, W. L. (Hurst Coll .). Agood bat , and capital field . LE FLEMING, J. (Tonbridge and Cambridge ). field. Adangerousbat w h e nset ; fine MARCHANT, F. (Eton and Cambridge). A good bat and field ; a very fast run- getter w h e nset. MASON, J. R. (Winchester ). Has scored consistently all through the season except on the wet and treacherous wickets in July ; played for the Gentlemen against the Players ; has a finished style of batting and is a very smart slip . PATTERSON, W. (Harrowand Oxford). A fair and taking bat, with unwearying defence, wasunable to play often last season. PERKINS, T. N. (Cambridge). Apowerful batsman ; played several fine innings for his University , but was unable to do muchfor the county ; an admirable outfield. RASHLEIGH, REV. W. (Oxford). Afine batsman, with a great variety of strokes , andscores very fast w h e nonce in. STEWART, H. C. Plays in good style , excellent field . WILSON, L. (Tonbridge ). Areally good bat, able to make runs on any wicket ; smartfield . WEIGALL, G. J. F. (Wellington and Cambridge). H a simproved greatly as a batsman, and invariably scores on a hard wicket ; has an elegant style , cutting being his strong point . L A N C A S H I R E . BENTON, C. H, (Harrow). Good batsman, with plenty of hit , and capital field . CROSFIELD, S. M. A good bat, and splendid field . HORNBY, A. N. (Harrow). Still a dangerous bat, hitting very freely ; as energetic as everin thefield. HOULDSWORTH, W. L. (Manchester ). Apromising player ; hits very hard, andis usefulin the out-field. KEMBLE, A. T. Very plucky and good wicket -keeper ; is also a good bat, and frequently scores well , particularly at a pinch . MACLAREN, A. C. (Harrow). A n excellent bat, having splendid defence , with plenty of punishing power ; played very fine cricket in the later matches . STEELE, A. G. (Marlborough and Cambridge). Still a fine all -round cricketer ; a first -class batsman ; good medium-pace bowler , and fair field ; does not play m u c hfirst -class cricketn o w. TINDALL, S. M. Madea very successful first appearance in 1894, and proved a great acquisition to the County; plays free cricket with anyamountof pluck ; agoodfield .
