Has lost to some extent his length , but has been brilliant at times . Not quite so safe in slips ; has played some useful innings . G. P. Wilson (1893-4 ) : Goodbat , bowler , and field ; should not try to bowl fast as his slow balls are very difficult to play . *H. Thwaites (1893-4 ) : Hasbeen unfortunate this season . Seems to have lost confidence in batting . G. N. Hampshire (1893-4 ) : Has improved greatly as a wicket -keeper ; slack at times ; stops balls on leg side very well . A poor bat . *G. F. Tettow (1893-4 ) : Areally good field at cover point ; disappoint- ing as a bat. A. Whitson (1894) : Agood hard hitting bat ; scored a lot of runs ; too muchinclined to pull short balls . Has bowled successfully . W. M. Gordon (1891 ) : Agood bat when set , drives well ; a safe out -field . *M. C. Hill (1894 ) : Has come on greatly . Bowls with high delivery , keeping a good length and vary- ing his pace ; can make ball do a lot on sticky wicket . Auseful bat and good field . D. D. Wilson (1894 ) : A good bat , watches ball and plays very straight . Agood field . E. Gibb (1894 ) : Agood bowler , delivers with high action ; works hard in field ; variable as a bat.
